 INTRODUCTION
 Foundations of Many Generations

We are a multi-ethnic congregation. As a family, we regard every member of this body as important. Therefore, we seek to rejoice with every member who rejoices, and mourn with any member who mourns.

We also value the ministry of compassion to the needy among us and within our community.

We also value the teaching of God's Word, therefore we are committed to a weekly Bible study. Please check our calendar of events to sign up for any of our services. We'll be glad to meet with you and get to know you more.

Please check our PROFESSION OF FAITH in order to know what we believe. It  will help you to make an informed decision about whether or not to be a part of this family.

Please contact us at any time with prayer needs, comments, concerns, or questions. We'll be glad to talk with you.

 VISION MISSION MOTTO

VISION – To seek and to bring lost souls to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

MISSION – FOMG Teaching & Evangelistic Ministries seeks to fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through prayer, evangelism, teaching, preaching and philanthropic ministries.

MOTTO – “…all things…to all men…by all means…to win some…”

 MINISTRY FOCUS TEXTS

“Is this not the fast I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not to hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard … The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. Those from among you shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations … Isaiah 58:6-12

For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews, I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; to them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law of Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men that I might by all means save some.” I Corinthians 9:19-22

 PROFESSION OF FAITH

  1. God:  This congregation believes in the One and only God, who is manifested in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe the Father is the first person of this Holy Trinity, the Son Jesus Christ is the second person, and the Holy Spirit is the third person. We believe in the biblical teaching that supports the work and person of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  2. Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ came in the flesh – We believe in the virgin birth of Christ – We believe in the crucifixion, death, and burial of Jesus Christ – We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ – we believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven – we believe that Jesus is coming back again for the saints –
  3. The Holy Spirit: We believe the person, the gifts, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. We also affirm the five-full ministry offices Christ has given to the Church: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers for the perfecting of the saints, for the works of the ministry, and for the edifying of the body of Jesus Christ. We also believe in the nine spiritual gifts as listed by the Apostle Paul: the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, the gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophesy, discerning of spirits, divers kinds of tongues, and the interpretation of tongues.(I Corinthians 12:1-11 Ephesians 4:11-12).  We believe Divine Healing and every miraculous signs and wonders Jesus performed while He was on earth are still being manifested in the church today (John 14:12).
  4. The Scripture:  We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.  We affirm the infallibility of all Scripture; therefore we uphold the teachings of all Scripture and adhere to the teachings thereof, and declare it our final authority in every decision making process of this congregation.  (II Timothy 3:16-17)
  5. The Church:  We believe the Church is the body of Jesus Christ; and the body is one, with many members. (I Corinthians 12:12-27)
  6. Sin:  We believe in the biblical teaching of “Total depravity,” (every human being is guilty of sin and in need of the Savior, Jesus Christ – Psalms 51:5; Romans 3:23-24)
  7. Justification by Faith:  We believe in the biblical doctrine of justification by faith alone apart from work (Romans 4:1-25).
  8. Salvation by Grace: We believe a person is saved by grace alone through faith, not by works.  However, we also affirm that a person is saved to do good works.  We also affirm that the grace of God is the ability to say “no to sin,” and yes to righteousness; it is not an endorsement to keep on sinning. (Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 2:11-12)
  9. Marriage:  We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a holy institution of God, existing only between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:21-25).  We also affirm that marriage is a headship relationship; with the husband as the head of the home and the wife as help meet; and that the husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for her.  (Colossians 3:18, Ephesians 5:22-26, I Corinthians 11:3)
  10. Water Baptism: we believe baptism is a required sacred component of the church of Jesus Christ; everyone who believes and accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior must be baptized. However, water baptism is not a requirement for eternal salvation, rather an outward declaration of our faith in Jesus Christ, and our identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. We also believe in baptism by immersion (Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:9-11, Luke 3:21-22; Romans 6:3; I Corinthians 12:13; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12; I Peter 3:21).
  11. The Holy Communion: we believe the Lord’s Supper is a required sacred component of the church of Jesus Christ.  It is a command by our Lord Jesus Christ that must be honored and practice by every born-again Christian (Matthew 26:26-28, Mark 14:22-25, Luke 22:14-20; I Corinthians 10:16; 11:23-34)
  12. ETERNAL SECURITY: We believe once a person is born again, that salvation is secured by God for all of eternity. Nothing can reverse that order. John 10:22-29; 1 Corinthians 5:1-5; Romans 8:1. However, we believe a born again Christian can lose his/her reward. 2 John 1:8; 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 We also believe that anyone who is born again cannot willfully continue to sin 1 John 3:8-9; Hebrew 10:26-27.
  13. TITHING:

We believe tithing is a command to every believer. Any believer who knowingly refuses to pay tithe is in direct opposition to the commandment of God; and he is a hindrance to the building of the church of our Lord Jesus Christ.  A tithe is 10% of all of one’s income, whether personal or business. The purpose of the tithe is to make sure church staff is proportionately compensated and the work of Christ is carried on the earth.  Malachi 3:8-12; Proverbs 3:9-10; Hebrews 7:1-21

 Core Values, Policies and Stance

Church Discipline

We (Foundations of Many Generations) believe Jesus has given the local church the authority, responsibility and obligation to exercise discipline. This authority is exercised only by the corporate body of the local church through its leadership, and not by any individual member of the church. Therefore, we hereby uphold this biblical value and strive to implement it just as it has been delivered to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. John 20:19-23 Matthew 18:15-20 1 Corinthians 5:1-13; 2 Corinthians 13:1-10; 2 Thessalonians 3:4, 14-15; 1 Timothy 1:18-20; Titus 3:10-11

Marriage

We (Foundations of Many Generations) believe marriage is an honorable and holy institution of God existing only between one man and one woman. We believe marriage in the Local Christian church is restricted only between two born again Christians of the opposite sex.  Therefore, no member of this local congregation is allowed to knowingly marry anyone who is not a Christian. We also do not believe in polygamy, neither do we practice it.  Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:3-6; Hebrew 13:4; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18

Weddings

In order to give clarity to congregational members and prospective congregational members, regarding our belief about marriage, the pastor(s) and Staff of FOUNDATIONS OF MANY GENERATIONS will not perform weddings for the following categories of people:

1. Two unbelievers (Non-Christians)

2. A believer (Christian) and unbeliever (Non-Christian)

3. Same sex couples (Homosexuals)

4. Polygamy couples (Person who marries more than one spouse)

Also, the property and belongings of FOUNDATIONS OF MANY GENERATIONS will not be used in any of the above named wedding ceremonies.

Divorce

We (Foundations of Many Generations) believe God hates divorce. Malachi 2:16; Matthew 19:3-6. We believe divorce is only allowed in the Christian church under certain circumstances:

First, a believer is only allowed to divorce his/her spouse in the case of a confirmed/evidential adultery/marital unfaithfulness. Otherwise, they both must remain single for the rest of their lives or be reunited to one another in marriage.  If any two believers divorce for any reason other than adultery, and remarry someone else, they are living in adultery as long as they remain in that second marriage while their divorced spouse is alive. Matthew 5:31-32; Matthew 19:3-6; Luke 16:18;

Second, if two unbelievers were married before one spouse became born again, only the unbelieving spouse is free to divorce the believing spouse for any reason. In such case, the believing spouse is free to remarry someone else while that unbelieving spouse is still alive 1 Corinthians 7:10-15

Remarriage

We (Foundations of Many Generations) believe remarriage can only occur in these instances that divorce is allowed in the Christian Church:

First, two Christians who were divorced for any reason other than adultery, are commanded by Scripture to get remarried to their spouse or remain single as long as the divorced spouse lives. 1 Corinthians 7:10-11

Second, in the case where two Christians are divorce because of marital unfaithfulness, the one who is the victim is legally allowed to get married to someone else while his/her spouse lives. On the other hand, the one who is the perpetrator is not allowed to get marry to anyone else while his/her formal spouse lives. However, after the death of his/her formal spouse, he/she is free to marry another person. Matthew 19:9-10

Third, if two unbelievers were married before one spouse became born again, only the unbelieving spouse is free to divorce the believing spouse for any reason. In such case, the believing spouse is free to remarry someone else while that unbelieving spouse is still alive 1 Corinthians 7:12-15

Adultery

We (Foundations of Many Generations) believe adultery is prohibited by Christ, and that adulterers will not go to heaven.  Therefore, we also prohibit it as a congregation. Adultery is when a married person has sex with someone else who is not his/her spouse. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, 14-18

Fornications

We (Foundations of Many Generations) believe fornication is prohibited by Christ in the Christian Church, and that fornicators will not go to heaven. Therefore, we also prohibit it as a congregation. Fornication is when an unmarried person has sex.  It is pre-marital sex. According to the Bible, Sexual intercourse is exclusively allowed only within the confine of marriage. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, 14-18

Homosexuality

We (Foundations of Many Generations) believe homosexuality is prohibited by Scripture as immoral, and that homosexuals will not go to heaven. Therefore, we also prohibit homosexuality as a congregation. However, just as God hates homosexuality but loves a homosexual person, we also hate homosexuality but love a homosexual person. Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, 14-18; Genesis 19:1-11

Drunkenness

We (Foundations of Many Generations) believe drunkenness is prohibited by Scripture, and that drunkards will not go to heaven. Therefore, we also prohibit drunkenness as a congregation. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Proverbs 20:1; 31:4, 6; Ephesians 5:18; 1 Samuel 25:1-38; Habakkuk 2:15

Abortion

We (Foundations of Many Generations) believe that life begins at conception (Jeremiah 1:5-4). Therefore, any intentional termination of the life of a baby whether born or unborn is considered a murder. In this regard, abortion is prohibited in this congregation.

Modesty Policy

The scripture is very clear about the need for distinction in the dress code of men and women, and among believers and unbelievers. Therefore, as a church, we hold these values in high esteem and subscribe to them in the following policies: 1Timothy 2:8-15; 1 Peter 3:1-6; 1 Corinthians 11:1-16  Therefore, all members and regular visitors of FOMG are required to dress modestly following these guidelines: Clothing should be ministry-appropriate, clearly contributing to a professional atmosphere and effective ministry. Men are not allowed to wear hats, short pants, earrings, braided hair, or long hanging hair. Women are required to wear head-covering while on ministry schedule, at church premises, or at church related outdoor events; dress/skirt should cover the knees when a woman is in upright sitting position. Blouses should cover the lower back when she is in bending position, and cover the armpit and breast completely. Pants are not allowed. In a nutshell, biblical modesty is a requirement.

Cigarette smoking

We (Foundations of Many Generations) believe that smoking cigarette is wrong because it is medically proven that it creates lung cancer and it is destructive to the human body. The Cigarette Smoking Act was passed by the 91st United States Congress and signed into law by President Richard Nixon on April 1, 1970 stating that cigarette advertisement should be ban from every radio and Television; and every cigarette packages should be labeled with this quotation: The Surgeon General Has Determined that Cigarette Smoking Is Dangerous to Your Health".  Therefore, every member of this congregation is prohibited from smoking cigarette. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

Baby Dedication

We (Foundations of Many Generations) believe in the biblical tradition of dedicating our children to the Lord. However, this experience should not be confused with being born again, or water baptism. Rather, it is meant to invoke God’s protection and care upon our children as we strive to parent and lead them in the ways of our Lord Jesus Christ. Luke 2:22

In order to discourage fornication and having children out of wedlock, only children of married couples will be dedicated during church services.

However, if a new member, who became a member being already a single parent will have his/her baby dedicated on or after the day of his/her wedding, if he/she decides to get marry.

On the other hand, if someone who is already a member of the church knowingly has a child out of wedlock, that child will not be dedicated in the church until that person has served discipline, repented and decides to be married. Then the child can be dedicated on the day of their wedding or after the the day of their wedding.
